For more than 300 years, the inhabitants of this town in the province of Valladolid have dedicated themselves to cultivating the best white asparagus in the area, which has become a reference throughout Spain.
Tudela de Duero asparagus is characterized by its soft and delicate flavor, its tender texture and its ivory white color. They are grown in a traditional way, following techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation, which guarantees that they are of the best quality. The cultivation of asparagus from Tudela de Duero is carried out in spring, when the temperature begins to rise, and they are harvested by hand to prevent damage.
Every year the Asparagus Exaltation fair is held in the municipality of Tudela de Duero, an event that lasts two days, generally the last weekend of May or the first weekend of June. This year specifically it is celebrated on June 3 and 4.
During the weekend, several streets in the town are filled with stalls where you can taste various dishes made with asparagus and purchase native specimens. In addition to the asparagus stalls, you will also find other typical garden products, along with pastries and artisanal ceramics. The festive atmosphere is enlivened with parades, dance group parades and traditional music to make this weekend an unforgettable experience.
